Our WAL Change Programmes have been developed for Corporations, Associations and Public Sector Organisations, and are categorised as :
These change programmes have been designed to develop the skills of managers which are required at the various levels of management, based on an adaption of the Katz model as shown below.
SKILLS OF MANAGERS
This diagram shows that managers need human skills, technical skills and conceptual management skills to be effective in their managerial role. The need for human skills is constant throughout the manager’s career. While technical skills are vital at the lower levels, the need for these skills decreases the higher the managers progress in their career. Conversely, the managers need more conceptual management skills with every move into a higher management position. For example, an accountant would need up-to-date technical skills in order to be an effective practitioner but if promoted to a managerial position, he/she would need management skills in order to be effective in that position and the need for technical skills will decrease.
Our change programmes focus on developing the human skills and the conceptual management skills of individuals as they progress in their career. Thus, we offer programmes for individual change, manager and team change as well as organisational change.
Work-Based Learning Programmes
The Work-Based Learning programmes are designed for individual change, and manager and team change.
