The Developing New Managers(DNM) Programme provides the opportunity for new managers and current managers, who are moving into a new business or management area, to develop an understanding about that discipline in order to be work-ready in that new role. The themes of this DNM Programme will be related to individual development in business or management through a work-based learning project and process.
This programme is delivered over 3 months, with in-built support from GCWAL Facilitators.
Organisations and participants have to be clear about what they want to achieve from the DNM programme. They should think through precisely what they would like to achieve, the boundaries within which they have to work, the resources available to them and the timescale involved.
They will need to consider the learning and development questions as shown in the diagram. The questions raised in the diagram will enable the participants to identify their learning and development needs in consultation with their immediate supervisor.
They will then undertake a work-based project to address such learning and development needs.
Participants will complete a project plan, monthly reflective reports and a final report on their experiences and future plans.
